Wireless Logistics
Wireless Logistics simplify the communication between shipment contractors, senders, and receivers of goods, thereby improving efficiency.
Wireless technologies permit a flexible and inspiring working environment in which information is easily transferred. With basic equipment such as mobile phones, PDAs and scanners, an uncomplicated working environment for all parties can be created.
4G Solutions makes your logistics system mobile and through this a range of new opportunities to improve your logistics is made available.
Building blocks in Wireless Logistics
Mobile phone (GPRS and Bluetooth)
With a mobile phone that supports GPRS, the shipping vehicle can be online to the logistics database at all the time, receiving the latest information regarding orders and changes. The shipment contractor can readily provide information about interruptions in the transport and the receiver can take actions to reduce the effects of this situation.
The functionality of Bluetooth has a series of advantages as the possibility for the shipment contractor to access the Internet through a PDA. Good received or picked up can be scanned using a scanner with built-in Bluetooth. Moreover, Bluetooth-enabled printers can be used to print orders and reports wirelessly.
Today 4G Solutions can offer your company mobile phones with GPRS and Bluetooth at a very attractive price.
PDA (Bluetooth or W-Lan)
There are today several alternative logistics software packages for PDAs
PDAs with built-in Bluetooth together with GPRS mobile phones enable online connections with the logistics database
In goods terminals 4G Solutions can equip trucks with wireless PDAs for access to local networks. In this way personnel in a terminal could for example receive information about incoming transports.
Wireless Bar-code Scanner
We use wireless scanners in order to easily pick up information and send it onwards using GPRS mobile phones, PDAs, printers and access points.
Scanner pens or built in scanners in PDAs or mobile phones are parts of our logistics solutions.
Access Points (Bluetooth or W-Lan)
4G Solutions has extensive knowledge in how to build cost-efficient local networks based on access points.
The advantage of a local wireless network is that you can access your fixed Internet connection with low data transfer costs instead of going through the more expensive GPRS network. Our recommendation is therefore to build a local wireless network in terminals.
By using market-leading access points and our industry knowledge, we can increase the coverage of a Bluetooth-based network - today up to a range of almost 2000 meters. The number of access points can be kept at a minimum and also the cost.
Wireless printers
By using wireless printers we can build solutions that give shipment contractor possibilities to print new orders even when on the road.
4G Solutions can recomend
Bluetooth-enabling devices for most of today's mobile printers.
